ADGA Plus Member

ADGA Plus is offered by the American Dairy Goat Association. It is designed to improve the quality of member herds. It has three components:
  1. Milk Testing: Herds in the program test their goat's milk production for volume of milk produced, fat content, and protein content. Does who have done well in the program are awarded milk stars (*M).
  2. Linear Appraisal (LA): LA is one of the most important events in the dairy goat world. Every year trained appraisers from the American Dairy Goat Association visit participating farms and evaluates the farm's goats against a set of ideal criteria.
  3. DNA Testing: DNA testing ensures the accuracy of pedigrees in the short term. In the long term it provides data the is essential for breed improvement and eradication of genetic disorders.
